Workshop blog - Another level

Day 6

Today was ace! I have learnt almost all their names. It’s not easy as some names are very unusual. Also, today I think we have reached another level. I gently introduce articulation exercises and a couple of typical Iraqi tongue twisters, which they loved! In small groups they presented a sequence of improvised movements where they have to follow the leader - the point being to all be aware of each other, the space and move at exactly the same time.

When I finished, Tabitha (photographer) and Bridgette (who's making a film) individually tell me how ‘beautiful’ the work was today. I felt proud. Each day a different feeling. I am enjoying this experience as much as the women are.
